MP, MLA, DC and SSP extend helping hand to flood affected Villages of Shahkot Sub Division

The district administration faced a fresh challenge as there was a major breach at Jania near Lohian in Shahkot Sub Division in the afternoon on Monday.As soon as the  news of breach was flashed the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal, accompanied  by Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh and MLA Mr Hardev Singh Laddi, rushed to the spot.

Extending a helping hand to the people 18 villages viz. Chakk Badala,  Jania,Jania Chahal, Mehrajwala, Gatta Mundi Kasu, Mundi Kasu, Mundi Shehriya, Mundi Chohlian, Kang Khurd, Jalalpur, Theh Khushalgarh, Gatti Raipur, Kotha,  Fatehpur Bhagwan, Ismailpur, Pipli miani,Gatti Peerbaksh and Raipur, they asked the officers to ensure evacuation of the villagers. They said that the state government  was fully committed to sAfeguard the interests of people in this hour of crisis.

The Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police said that every effort would be made to minimise the damage of people due to fury of floods. They said  that the teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed to meet any sort of urgency. Likewise, they said that the teams of doctors have already been deployed for  facilitating people. They said elaborate arrangements have been made for food for people and fodder for animals.On the occasion, Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh  Singh and MLA Mr Hardev Singh Laddi Sherowalia said that the state government was fully committed to safeguard the interests of people. They said that the state  government would duly compensate the people who have suffered losses due to the flood. They assured the people that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister  Captain Amarinder Singh was committed for well being of all.
