MP MLA's son under lens for thrashing Rajasthan cops

Jaipur: Police are yet to make any arrest in the case of two Rajasthan police constables being beaten up in Dholpur allegedly by the musclemen of a Madhya Pradesh MLA’s son who has been named in the complaint.

The constables were attacked on Monday night. They have alleged that they heard the attackers taking instructions from the MLA’s son on the phone.

DIG Bharatpur Lakshman Gaur is monitoring the investigation.

According to constables, they heard the goons speak to MLA Aidal Singh Kansana son’s on phone and he is part of the 14 accused in the FIR. “The MLA’s son Banku has been named in the FIR and we are checking his involvement in the matter. It is suspected that bajri mafia is behind the attack. We are investigating the matter,” said Gaur.

The constables who were stationed in Kotwali in Dhoplur were patrolling on a bike, late night on Chambal river bridge when the accused overtook them in a car and forcibly took them in the forest area where they mercilessly beat them with sticks and belts before fleeing.

The constables Vijaypal and Hariom informed their colleagues who rushed to the spot and took the injured to the hospital. Both of them were supposedly beaten up for nearly an hour and are currently undergoing treatment under police protection.

The region has become infamous for increasing notoriety of the mining mafia which has been prevalent in the area. Two persons involved in alleged transporting of illegally mined sand (bajri) were killed, while four others including two police constables were injured during a fierce shootout between the police and mining mafia in Dholpur’s Basai Dang village on August 30.
