MP wants Bhuvanagiri halt for trains originating from Sec'bad

Secunderabad: People travel 50km from Bhuvanagiri to Secunderabad to board a train to Tirupati. Though Padmavati Express and other superfast trains to other destinations pass through Bhuvanagiri, Alair and Jangaon, they do not halt at these stations.

People wanting to go to Yadadri temple are also denied a chance since there is not halt at Bhuvanagiri, said Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who represents Bhuvanagiri.

Venkat Reddy met South Central Railway(SCR) general manager, Gajanan Mallya on Friday and submitted a representation with a plea to extend the MMTS service to Yadadri and Jangaon for the benefit of locals.

Stating that Bhuvanagiri station is located just 12km away from Yadadri temple Venkat Reddy said thousands of devotees from various states visit Yadadri for a darshan of Lord Narasimha Swamy. The Yadadri temple is considered by many as Telangana’s Tirupati and witnesses a huge rush of devotees every year.

“Students, employees, businessmen and farmers commute daily to Hyderabad from Bhuvanagiri. People of Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, surrounding mandals and villages want all major trains to halt at Bhuvanagiri,” the Venkat Reddy said.

He urged the authorities to ensure halts for Satavahana, Padmavati, Konark and Machilipatnam Express trains, construct a road underbridge, set up an enquiry counter, RO water plant, canteen and other facilities.

He also urged stoppage of Konark, Kakinada Port-Shirdi COA-SNSI, Nagavali, Nanded, Dakshin, Falaknuma and Padmavati Express trains at Alair and a road over bridge at the Gundlagudem rail gate.

The MP requested the authorities to ensure halt at Jangaon of Nanded, Charminar and Narsapir-Nagarsol NS-NSL Express trains and extend MEMU train Nos. 67275 and 67676 between Falaknuma and Bhuvanagiri and Bhuvanagiri and Falaknuma.
