MSMEs in Aurangabad are stable despite some challenges: Entrepreneur

New Delhi, Nov 21 (KNN) Refusing the claims that the situation for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in drought-hit Marathwada region is as bad as it is for the farmers, Aurangabad base SME entrepreneur said the problems in the region are similar to what SMEs across the country are facing.

There was a recent case of suicide committed by an SME entrepreneur in Marathwada after which news were doing rounds that after farmers it’s now the SSI owners who are facing the heat of slowdown.

Despite all the challenges, things are stable here, says Prasad Kokil, Ex-President of Chamber of Marathwada Industries Association (CMIA).

While talking to KNN India, Kokil said, ''MSMEs here (Aurangabad) are facing cash flow problems. There are many payments and due to delay in payments several companies might not be able to get a good cash flow. Other than this, everything is fine and there is nothing like that business isn't functioning and suppressed under the inflation.''

''Everything is absolutely fine here,'' added Kokil.

While talking over a recent report of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) workers suicide due to delay in GST payment and economic slowdown, Kokil said he might be facing some problems it has nothing to do with the overall situation in the region.

''First thing is that these suicides are not related to the given reasons. There are some personal problems which harass people so connecting these suicides with the GST and economic slowdown isn't appropriate,” he said adding ''It is one such case and we are not sure what the reasons are?'

''We always maintain positivity among the workers and industries by orgainising various programmes equipped with concern persons,'' he said.

''An entrepreneur is normally a fighting person, he normally doesn't escape with the help of suicide,'' he concluded.
