Mumbai: Three electrocuted, two injured at Goregaon, Andheri

MUMBAI: Three people were electrocuted and two others were injured in separate instances in Goregaon and Andheri on Friday.

In the first case, four members of a family suffered a high voltage electric shock at their house in Mahakali Caves Road, Goregaon East, around 7.56am. They were rushed to the Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Hospital in an ambulance by the Vanrai police. Rajendra Yadav, 60, was pronounced dead before admission. His son, Sanjay, 24, succumbed to his injuries subsequently. Among those injured are Dipu Yadav, 24, and Asha Yadav, 5. They are being treated by doctors at the hospital. Rajendra and Sanjay's bodies were sent to the Siddharth post-mortem centre at Goregaon for an autopsy. Two accidental death cases have been registered by the Vanrai police.

In the second case, a 60-year-old woman, Kashmia Budiyar, was electrocuted at Anna Nagar near the RTO office at Four Bungalows, Andheri West. Her body was sent for an autopsy to the Cooper post-mortem centre. The local police are probing the sequence of events leading to her death.
