Munger JD(U) MP trying to frame me: Anant Singh in new video

PATNA: Wanted Mokama MLA Anant Singh released a video late on Thursday evening in which he has accused Munger JD (U) MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Lalan Singh, state minister Neeraj Kumar and Barh SDPO Lipi Singh of hatching a conspiracy to implicate him in the arms haul case.

This is the third video the MLA has put out after going into hiding following the recovery of an AK-47 assault rifle, two hand grenades and 26 live cartridges from his ancestral house at Ladma village under Barh sub-division of the district on August 16.

The video has raised a question mark on the police’s efforts to trace the lawmaker.

In the video, Anant said he would not surrender before the police as he had no faith in the men in uniform.

“I have come to know that Lalan Singh, Neeraj Kumar and Lipi Singh held a meeting at the NTPC premises and a semi-automatic weapon was kept in my house to implicate me in a criminal case. Police officials are trying to arrest me to implicate in another fabricated case,” he said in the video.

“I have faith on the judiciary and hope to get justice,” he added.

Reacting to the allegations, JD (U) MLC and state information and public relations department minister Neeraj Kumar told TOI on Thursday evening: “I would not like to comment on such baseless allegations levelled by a person, who has been called a tragedy of society by the high court.”

Earlier, Barh SDPO Singh said raids were conducted at various hideouts of Anant in Barh and its adjoining areas to locate his whereabouts.

“We have got some leads in the case. Investigation is proceeding in the right direction and hope to get more success in the days to come,” she told TOI over phone on Thursday.
