Mutilated bodies of young couple found in Mainpuri

Agra: Mutilated bodies of a young couple were found in an open field about 300 meters from their house in Mainpuri’s Ganeshpur village on Monday. They were related to each other and had allegedly eloped on Saturday.

According to the police, the teenaged girl’s wedding was scheduled on Monday. Her family lodged a complaint on June 22 at Kotwali police station against their relative Aman (22) under section 363 (Punishment for Kidnapping), 366 (Kidnapping, Abducting or Inducing Woman to Compel her Marriage, etc) of IPC and 7/8 POCSO (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

Aman’s family members were detained by the police, but even they were unaware of Aman’s whereabouts, said police. Today their partially decomposed bodies were found in a field near their house.

The bodies, identified by the family members, have been sent for post mortem, said the police.

Talking to TOI, SP Mainpuri, Ajay Shankar Rai, said that the post mortem report will unravel the mystery behind their deaths. Investigations are on.
