Nandan Sawant gets GSM ticket for Mapusa

SALIGAO: Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) leader Subhash Velingkar on Friday said Mapusa-based architect Nandan Sawant, will represent the party at the Mapusa bypoll.


“Sawant is known for temple architecture in Goa and even in Karnataka and Maharashtra . He has also taken part in social activities and participated in protests on behalf of the party,” Velingkar told reporters.

He had earlier announced that Swaroop Naik was the party’s candidate for Mandrem , while Santosh Satarkar would contest from Shiroda.

“While selecting candidates, even for assembly polls, we don’t look at someone who gives free drinks, organises tournaments, or gives money to motorcycle pilots,” the former Goa Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief said.
