National Tribal Dance festival enthralled city people

A three-day long National Tribal Dance Festival was organised at the Adivasi Mela- 2020 , where tribal people from different parts of the country took part and performed their native dance forms. The unique tribal dance performances enthralled the city audience who had been visiting the mela to have a firsthand experience of the tribal culture , tradition, rituals and lifestyle.

The tribal dance festival presented special dance forms by tribals from Nagaland , Mizoram, Assam, Sikkim , Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. The tribal artistes from these nine states were the major attraction for the visitors.

“I had come to the fair to have a firsthand experience of everything. But when I saw the tribal dances from different states being staged, it was really amazing . The way tribal people have been in love with their original identity, culture, art and everything, it’s something to learn for city people like us,” said Soumya Nayak, a B.Tech. student.

The dance festival was organised by the State SC & ST Training Institute along with the 15-day long Adivasi mela.
