Naval dockyard gets ENC's 'rajbhasha' award

Visakhapatnam: The ‘Poorvi Nausena Kaman Rajbhasha Trophy’ and the ‘most environment-friendly unit’ trophies for 2018-19 were given out by the chief of Eastern Naval Command ( ENC ) Atul Kumar Jain during the half-yearly command staff meeting held in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

This year, the ‘Poorvi Nausena Kaman Rajbhasha’ award went to naval dockyard, Visakhapatnam.

INS Dega emerged as the runner-up. The ENC has been giving out these trophies to units who use Hindi the most for official communication.

INS Eksila has been adjudged the winner for the most environment-friendly unit among large units. While the Base Vactualing Yard, Visakhapatnam has won the award for the most environment-friendly unit among small units.

The most environment-friendly unit awards are given out to encourage units to participate in eco-friendly activities.

The ENC undertakes numerous eco-friendly activities throughout the year including plantation drives, coast clean-up drives and implementing no plastic zones within its units.
