Neemrana Fort is a historical fort located in Alwar, Rajasthan. It is one of the famous forts of Rajasthan Alwar that is around 555 years old. But this is not actually a fort because It was transformed into Heritage Resort in 1991 by Francis Wacziarg and Aman Nath. Many restaurants are built in this fort. This huge 10-storey fort has been built by cutting the Aravalli hill into three acres.

History and information of Neemrana Fort

Neemrana Fort India is one of the oldest forts now transformed into a heritage hotel. Neemrana is a historic fort as well as a beautiful famous tourist destination that attracts tourists all around the world.

This fort was ruled by Kings of Prithviraj Chauhan's dynasty in ancient times. He lived on this fort for many years. The Neemrana Fort seems quite grand in appearance.

There are 50 rooms are in this 10-storey palace. It is built by cutting the Aravalli hill into three acres. A considerable imprint in Neemrana's interiors can also be seen of the British era.

Why was the fort named Neemrana?

Neemrana Fort is a very old and famous fort. There is an interesting story behind the name of this fort. Neemrana derived its name from a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo, who when defeated by the Chauhans, pleaded that his name is given to his lost kingdom.

This fort has also been nominated for several awards. Which includes 'INTACH Satte' and Aga Khan Award.

Neemrana Fort Palace Architecture and restaurants

Neemrana fort haveli is situated on a high hill and the splendid view from the height makes this place even more attractive. The resort has a total of 50 rooms. One can enjoy the grandeur of the surroundings from the balcony of most rooms.

The construction of this fort clearly reflects a mixture of Mughal and Rajputana architectural style. At present, this palace has become a major heritage site and is a suitable place for weddings and conferences.

The special thing about this fort is that every room built here is given a different name. If tourists want to enjoy the majestic chic in the fort then they can enjoy the grandeur of the palace for two hours by paying a nominal fee, but these rooms are only available on rent for the day. There is also a conference hall in Najara Mahal and Durbar Mahal. Many restaurants are built in this fort. The palace also has an open swimming pool.

Hawa mahal and Aamkhas restaurants situated in the fort for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Apart from the Hawa Mahal restaurant (11 am to 11 pm), the buffet for lunch and dinner is laid at various indoor and outdoor venues for guests delight. Holi Kund, Jalgiri Mahal, Kanak Mahal Restaurant, Uncha Bagh & Mukut Bagh, Raj Mahal Bar and Maha Burj Restaurants are also situated in the fort which offers food from different cuisines.

The Sariska Tiger Reserve, one of the country's famous tiger reserves, is also located here. Apart from this - Bharatpur Sanctuary, Sariska Tiger Reserve, Kesroli, Siliserh Lake, Lake Palace, Sariska Tiger Sanctuary, Kankwari Fort, Neelkanth Temple, Pandupol, Tijara Monuments, Jaisamand Lake, Bhangarh-Ajabgarh, Rajgarh, Viratnagar, Famous Museum, Baba Kedarnath Ashram, etc are other tourist places in Neemrana.

How to reach

By Road - Direct buses are available from any of Delhi's bus stand. If you want to go to Neemrana by your own vehicle then it can be reached comfortably in 4-5 hours. Neemrana does not have a bus stand of its own, the nearest bus stop here is Kosli (Haryana), which is 51 km far from here.

By train - Neemrana's nearest railway station is Alwar, which is located at a distance of about 70 km. You will easily get trains from all the big cities in the country.

By Air - The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport, which is about 108 km away. Sanganer Airport of Jaipur is 136 km away. From where you can reach Alwar comfortably through interstate bus service.
