New areas in grip of Covid; Bhopal count 1336

Bhopal: About 70% of total Covid-19 cases in Misrod, Talaiya, Kotwali and Hanumanganj, have been reported in the last two weeks, according to a district administration assessment of infection trend in the state capital.

Koh-e-Fiza and Kolar have been the success indicators, with only three and one cases in the last fortnight.

Koh-e-Fiza area has reported 115 Covid-19 cases, while Kolar has reported 29.

On Wednesday, state capital reported 53 new Covid-19 cases taking the corona count to 1,356.

There are 452 active cases in Bhopal. In addition, number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Bhopal touched 51 on Wednesday.

Shymala Hills which had earlier been declared a containment free area, has reported 11 new cases in the last 14 days.

In some indication of hope, the worst impacted area in Bhopal, Jehangirabad, has reporting single digit cases in the last 10-days.

The number is a high 72 cases, but the area was reporting 150 plus cases a fortnight ago.

The new assessment by the district administration also indicates that 14 of the 85 wards in Bhopal are in the clear, or a green zone. However, six of the 39 police station zones in Bhopal would be declared as safe only after 14-days without any reported Covid-19 cases.

For eight zones the number of days to change status from red to orange, orange to green is 13 days. Chunabhatti, Berasia and Katara hills are in the green zone. If no cases are reported in Awadhpuri for two days, it too would be labelled as a green zone.
