New figure of death in Assam floods surfaced

The death toll due to floods in Assam has increased to 110. More than 56 lakh people have been affected in this flood so far. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) informed on Thursday that while 110 people have lost their lives, a total of 56 lakh 89 thousand 584 people have been affected in 30 cities of the state.

The flood situation in Assam is deteriorating with the increase in the number of casualties due to natural disaster in various districts.

According to an official news, the situation has improved in most areas of the state, but there has been no improvement in the cities of Dhemaji, Baksa and Morigaon. In these three, 14,205 people have been affected by the floods at this time and 7,009 hectare crop areas have also been affected. In Dhemaji, 12,908 people have been affected the most. After this, 1,000 people in Baksa and 297 people in Morigaon are affected by the disaster. As of Tuesday, 13,800 people were affected in all three cities.

According to ASDMA, 81 villages in total are in the grip of floods, and most of them are in Dhemaji cities. The Brahmaputra river is flowing above the danger mark at Nematighat in Jorhat cities, while Jia Bharali is flowing above the red mark at NT Road crossing in Sonitpur. The bulletin states that embankments, roads, bridges, culverts and other infrastructure have been damaged in Bongaigaon and Baksa districts. The same, people are suffering from heavy rains and floods in many parts of India. In view of this, the United Nations has offered humanitarian aid. UN Secretary-General's spokesman Stephen Dujarik said that more than 770 people have died in India during the monsoon. According to officials, more than five lakh people have been evacuated from their residence to safer parts. In view of this, the United Nations is ready to provide humanitarian aid to the most affected people.
