Prabhas' Film 'Kalki 2898 AD' Release Date Delayed - Here's The Scoop!

Following a string of setbacks, Rebel star Prabhas shatters his dry streak at the box office post Baahubali with the resounding success of Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire. Fans rejoice at the return of their beloved star to form. Prabhas is poised to sustain this triumph with the grand-scale venture Kalki 2898 AD , helmed by director Nag Ashwin.
This epic science fiction action thriller, interwoven with mythological nuances, is purportedly crafted with a staggering budget of Rs 600 crore, marking it as the costliest Indian film to date.

Despite initial plans to release the film on May 9, Kalki 2898 AD encountered delays during its production phase. Unfortunately for eager fans, it seems they will have to exercise patience for a few additional months before experiencing this cinematic masterpiece. Recent updates suggest that the release of Kalki 2898 AD has been postponed from its original May 9 date due to prolonged post-production activities.

Rumors are circulating that the producers are in discussions with distributors to finalize the release date of the film. If negotiations proceed smoothly, audiences may anticipate the film's theatrical debut in either the last week of July or the third week of August. However, an official confirmation regarding the postponement is still pending.

Kalki 2898 features an impressive ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The narrative revolves around the emergence of Kalki, the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu, destined to bring an end to the ongoing Kaliyuga. During the Synapse 2024 event held in Gurugram, Nag Ashwin unveiled that the film's timeline will commence from the era of the Mahabharata, spanning 6000 years until 2898 AD, the prophesied arrival of Lord Vishnu's final avatar. He further revealed the team's endeavor to craft a distinct visual aesthetic, diverging from the futuristic ambiance of Blade Runner, despite sharing a common future setting spanning centuries.
