Ranveer Singh Applauds Deepika Padukone's Lady Singham Look, Playfully Calls Her 'Sherni'

Deepika Padukone astounded everyone with her debut as the lady Singham in Singham 3 . In Rohit Shetty ’s newest cop flick, she embodies the role of Shakti Shetty. His recent social media post, revealing another stunning look of Deepika Padukone, further elevated expectations. Notably, her husband, Ranveer Singh , emerges as her staunchest supporter.

Ranveer enthusiastically took to his Instagram stories, showcasing Deepika’s Lady Singham avatar and affectionately referring to her as ' sherni '. Deepika exuded elegance in her Khaki uniform against a vibrant backdrop. Emulating Ajay Devgn 's iconic hand gesture from the first Singham film, she added her own flair with stylish sunglasses. Earlier, Rohit Shetty shared the same image with a caption that read, “MY HERO… REEL MEIN BHI AUR REAL MEIN BHI LADY SINGHAM!!! @deepikapadukone.”

Deepika's role in the movie is pivotal. In 2023, Rohit Shetty revealed that Singham Again would position Deepika as one of the central figures. He emphasized, “She is like one of the heroes, and what we are doing with it is that we will go with her story. We will make a film that has only Deepika. It is her story. Like Sooryavanshi, Singham, and Simmba, the films had already been made and people knew about them, but with Singham again, we are introducing these characters, and then we will tell their stories.”

The director announced the film, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role alongside Ranveer Singh, on the first day of Navratri in October last year. Rohit, during the unveiling of the first look, disclosed that Deepika would portray the role of the most ‘brutal and violent’ cop in his cop universe. In the initial poster, Deepika was depicted clad in police attire, holding a gun, with the weapon placed in a man’s mouth, while she wore a sinister smile, blood trickling from her forehead and shoulders. Sharing the poster, Rohit penned, “Naari sita ka bhi roop hai aur durga ka bhi… Meet the most brutal and violent officer in our cop universe… Shakti Shetty… My lady Singham… Deepika Padukone.”

In the meantime, Deepika Padukone is anticipating her first child with her actor-husband Ranveer Singh. The couple disclosed their pregnancy in February of this year through a heartwarming poster, adorned with "September 2024" inscribed on it. Surrounding the date were children’s apparel, toys, and balloons, creating a delightful border. Deepika and Ranveer have celebrated over five years of marriage. Additionally, Deepika is set to star alongside Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming film Kalki, 2989 AD.
