Subhadra Yojana: Government To Provide 50 Thousand Rupees To Women, Know Details

The central government of India runs numerous schemes aimed at benefiting its citizens, with a strong focus on promoting women's empowerment . Beyond the central initiatives, various state governments also launch their own schemes to uplift and support their populations. One such initiative is the Subhadra Yojana , introduced by the Odisha government to empower women through financial aid.


What is Subhadra Yojana ?

The Subhadra Yojana is a financial assistance program launched by the Odisha government specifically for women in the state. The scheme aims to promote women’s empowerment by providing an annual financial benefit of ₹10,000. According to the Odisha government, approximately one crore women in the state will benefit from this scheme. The government has already issued guidelines for its implementation.


The scheme is set to be launched on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. Under Subhadra Yojana, the government will transfer the funds directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The payment will be made in two installments of ₹5,000 each per year.

Eligibility Criteria


To qualify for the Subhadra Yojana, the following conditions must be met:

Age: Women must be between 21 and 60 years of age.

Residency: Applicants must be native residents of Odisha.

Exclusions:
  • Women who are government employees or have an income taxpayer in their household are not eligible.
  • Financially prosperous women are also excluded from the scheme.
  • Women already receiving ₹1,500 under any other state scheme will not be eligible for Subhadra Yojana.

Additional Benefits


In addition to the annual ₹10,000, the Odisha government will also provide debit cards to women under the Subhadra Yojana. The government will encourage digital transactions among women, and those who conduct the highest number of digital transactions in each Gram Panchayat and urban body will receive an additional ₹500. This bonus will be awarded to 100 women under the scheme.

How to Apply

Women interested in applying for the Subhadra Yojana can obtain the application form from Anganwadi centers, block offices, or Mo-Seva Kendra and Jan Seva Kendra. There is no fee required for obtaining or submitting the form. Once filled out, the form must be submitted along with the relevant documents to the Anganwadi center or block office.

Subhadra Yojana represents a significant step by the Odisha government towards empowering women financially and encouraging digital literacy and economic independence among them.
