IPL 2024 Full Schedule: Chennai Gears Up For IPL 2024 Final On May 26; Ahmedabad To Host Crucial Qualifier Duels

The Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI ) has officially disclosed the itinerary for the upcoming matches in the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The ongoing 17th edition of this cricketing extravaganza commenced last week with a gripping showdown between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Chepauk stadium .

According to the revised schedule, Ahmedabad will host the first Qualifier and the Eliminator on May 21st and 22nd, respectively. Subsequently, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will witness the intensity of the second Qualifier on May 24th, paving the way for the grand finale slated for May 26th.

Initially, the BCCI had only disclosed the schedule for the first two weeks of the tournament until April 7th, awaiting the announcement of the dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. With the Election Commission unveiling the polling dates, the BCCI, in collaboration with local authorities, has now finalized the schedule for the remaining matches of the IPL season.

In the forthcoming phase, the Delhi Capitals will play their remaining five home matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, amid the fervent support of their home crowd. Initially, they opted for Visakhapatnam to host their first two home matches.

As for the Punjab Kings, who inaugurated their season at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, they will conclude their home matches in the serene surroundings of Dharamsala. This picturesque stadium will witness PBKS in action against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 5th and 9th, respectively.

Additionally, the Rajasthan Royals have chosen Guwahati as their secondary venue and will host their final two home matches in Assam. They are slated to clash with the Punjab Kings on May 15th and later face off against the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19th, which will also mark the culmination of the league stage in the 17th season of IPL.
