Watch: Preity Zinta's Epic Reaction To MS Dhoni's First-Ball Duck Takes Internet by Storm

Punjab Kings' winning streak came to an abrupt halt as they suffered a surprising 28-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Despite clinching victory in their previous two matches, PBKS couldn't sustain their momentum and faltered, managing only 139/9 while chasing CSK's total of 169/9.

Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the star performer, contributing with both bat and ball, scoring 43 runs off 26 balls and claiming three crucial wickets for CSK.
However, it was a disappointing outing for MS Dhoni with the bat, as the CSK stalwart was dismissed for a golden duck.

Dhoni's rare appearance at No. 9, a position he hadn't occupied in 18 years, ended in dismay during the 19th over of CSK's innings. Harshal Patel 's deceptive slower delivery completely bamboozled him, dipping rapidly and breaching his defense to crash into the off-stump.

The dismissal left the crowd at Dharamsala stunned, but PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta couldn't contain her emotions and was spotted celebrating in the stands, wearing a radiant smile and applauding Harshal for his brilliant wicket.

Reflecting on the match, crafty leg-spinner Rahul Chahar (3/23) and seamer Harshal Patel (3/24) displayed commendable performances, but Jadeja's vital contribution of 43 runs off just 26 balls propelled CSK to a competitive total of 167/9 after being put into bat by Sam Curran.

Jadeja then returned with the ball, snatching three wickets for 20 runs in his four overs during the crucial middle overs, derailing PBKS' chase, which eventually petered out at 139 for nine.

"Thought we bowled really well. Rahul Chahar and Harshal bowled really well, was pretty happy at the halfway point but unfortunately it wasn't to be. The wicket was probably slower than we thought, we expected a little more pace and bounce, it was pretty similar throughout the game. Couple of days off and we go against RCB in a few days time so we need to move on and stay headstrong," remarked PBKS stand-in skipper Sam Curran after the match.

CSK is slated to clash against Gujarat Titans in their next IPL 2024 fixture on Friday, while PBKS will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday.
