In recent months, Meta has rolled out its advanced AI chatbot , Meta AI , across WhatsApp , Instagram , and Facebook Messenger in India. This new integration harnesses the power of Llama 2 for text-based interactions and Llama 3 for generating images.

On Instagram, users can easily access Meta AI by swiping right from the main screen and tapping the search bar in the Direct Message (DM) section. Once activated, the chatbot allows users to either ask questions or choose from a list of pre-written prompts. Conversations with Meta AI will appear within the Messages section.

What Meta AI Offers on Instagram

Meta AI, leveraging both Llama 2 and Llama 3 models, offers a diverse range of functionalities. It can assist with creating custom stickers, drafting captions, writing messages, generating images, planning trips, summarizing texts, and even providing the latest news headlines.

However, like other AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini , Meta AI may occasionally produce inaccurate responses and is prone to generating unexpected outputs. Although users can modify images created by Meta AI to some extent, the results might not always align perfectly with the given prompt.

In terms of privacy, Meta has ensured that its AI does not access personal conversations. Instead, users can use Meta AI to rephrase, shorten, or enhance their messages with added emojis. To modify a message while chatting, users can tap the pencil icon beside the text bar.

While Meta AI is versatile in tasks like trip planning and recipe suggestions, it does not support file analysis, distinguishing it from other popular AI chatbots. Meta’s goal with this integration appears to be to provide practical assistance within the app itself, rather than offering a comprehensive AI solution.
