WhatsApp To Introduce Channel Update Forwarding Feature Soon: What Users Should Know

A recent online report disclosed that WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a feature enabling users to monitor the view count of channel updates.

According to information from WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned platform is now initiating the rollout of a new capability for forwarding channel updates to selected Android beta testers.

The forthcoming feature will empower users to promptly distribute channel updates across their chats and status updates.

According to the report, select beta testers can now experience a new forwarding button tailored for swiftly sharing channel updates within their chats, groups, and status posts. It's worth noting that while the ability to forward channel updates was available in previous updates, WhatsApp is streamlining the process by introducing a dedicated shortcut for forwarding channel content, thereby expediting the sharing process.

Located next to the reaction view, this button simplifies the forwarding process, removing the necessity for users to navigate through the overflow menu at the top of the screen to access this option.

“By displaying the forwarding button for any channel updates, WhatsApp is simplifying the process of sharing relevant information from channels, making this interaction definitely faster. With the shortcut provided by the forwarding button, users can efficiently share channel updates with their contacts and groups with just a few taps, eliminating the need for manual navigation through the overflow menu,” mentions the report.
