Nigerian woman arrested with Rs 3.5 crore heroin
LUDHIANA: The police on Monday claimed to have arrested a Nigerian woman drug peddler with heroin in Khanna.
Joe Occo, 27 — a native of Ikeja, Lagos State, and resident of Dwarka , Delhi — had made pellets of heroin, combined them with plaster of Paris and hid the bar in a water filter candle.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said, “A checkpost was set up near a mall on GT Road in Alour on Sunday.
A woman got down from a bus near the checkpost. While she was going towards the mall, the police party stopped her on suspicion. She identified herself as Joe Occo of Nigeria . During checking, 696 grams of heroin was found hidden in her bag.”
“After making pellets of Rs 3.5-crore heroin, she had combined them all with plaster of Paris and concealed the piece in a water filter candle. Joe, who works as a cook in Delhi, has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Earlier, her sister was caught peddling drugs in the state,” said a cop.

During interrogation, Joe revealed that she had brought the consignment from Delhi to supply it to a client at Amritsar bus stand.
