Nimta murder case: two more in custody, police searching for murder weapon




Two more people were detained on Monday in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Debjan Das in Nimta in North 24 Parganas district on the night of 7-8 October.


 According to police, they are interrogating more people to find out the weapon used to kill Das.  Police said Das was shot from outside his car from a point blank range, moving at a low speed of 20-22 km / h.  According to police, the latest captives - Sandeep Das and Abhijeet Mondal - know the prime suspect Rajkumar Singh, who was arrested by the police on Saturday.

 Sources claimed that investigating officers are focusing on locating the pistol, which was used in the murder, and its owners to come to a conclusion as to how the incident actually happened.

 Police suspect there was a problem with Singh Das's girlfriend, with whom he was in a prior relationship.  Das said that he was a junior at school and on the night of October 7, when he saw the girl entering a pub in Salt Lake, it did not go well with him.  "We are still investigating the case, we have not reached any conclusion," said a senior police officer.

 The Barrackpore police have already arrested two people in connection with the murder.  Principal suspect Singh was arrested from his relative's house in Budge Budge area in South 24 Parganas district on Saturday and sent to 14 days police custody by a district court in Barrackpore on Sunday.
