Nine nabbed for looting Rs 25L worth mustard oil consignment

AGRA: Saiyan police of Agra district arrested nine for looting a truck ferrying mustard oil consignment to Jharkhand from Bharatpur, Rajasthan.


According to police, last week on Saturday night, a gang armed with weapons waylaid a truck on Agra-Dholpur highway. The gang was travelling in a SUV.

“After overpowering the truck driver and cleaner, the gang tied the duo and dumped them in a forest. They drove the stolen truck to Etah and sold some cans of oil. Later, they brought the truck to Mania and transferred the goods to another truck in order to sell the remaining consignment in Agra, but were caught,” said Agra’s senior SP Babloo Kumar.

The accused were identified as Vijender Singh (the gang leader), Chaman Khan, Satyaveer Gujjar, Prem Singh, Vishnu Gujjar, Dhruv, Ajay, Sanjay and Prashant. The majority of accused hailed from Dhaulpur and Mohaba.

Police claimed that four men of the gang are still absconding — Satyapal, Vijay, Prem Singh and Nizam.
