NMR special trains cancelled till Nov 30

Coimbatore: The special train services between Ooty and Ketti on Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) section have been cancelled from October 26 to November 30, due to poor patronage , said a statement from Salem division of the Southern Railway.

To clear the Diwali rush, the railway has meanwhile introduced a special Coimbatore-Asansol train, which will leave the city at 9.45pm on Saturday and reach Asansol at 10.30am on Monday.

The train will stop at Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Perambur, Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Duvvada, Simhachalam North, Kottavalasa, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Palasa, Sompeta, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Naraj Marathapur, Bhadrak, Balosore, Hijli, Midnapore, Bankura and Adra.

The railway said the weekly superfast train service connecting Jabalpur and Coimbatore would be available from November 2 to December 30.

The Jabalpur-Coimbatore superfast (train no 02198) will leave Jabalpur at 11am on Saturdays and reach Coimbatore at 2.50am on Monday. The train (no 02197) will leave Coimbatore on Monday at 7pm and reach Jabalpur at 10.20am on Wednesday.

The train will stop at Narsinghpur. Gadarwara, Pipariya, Itarsi, Harda, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Manmad, Igatpuri, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Thivim, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki, Mangaluru Jn, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur and Palakkad Junction.
