Noida: Two found transporting calf remains held and booked; knife, rope found

NOIDA: Two men have been arrested for allegedly killing a calf with a knife near the burial ground in Sector 38 around 3am on Thursday. The men, along with two others who managed to flee, were allegedly found transporting the remains of the animal.

The cops identified the four men as Nazim Ahmed, Farman, Naushad and Kameel.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police arrived near the burial ground around 3:30 am and allegedly spotted an autorickshaw in which the accused had kept the remains of the calf.

Senior sub inspector Sudhir Singh told TOI that all the four accused tried to flee from the spot after they saw the cops and started firing.

Singh said it was not possible to determine whether the calf was a male or a female. Samples of the animal’s remnants have been sent for a test in the forensic science laboratory in Agra.

The team recovered a knife, a rope and two pistols from the accused.

The absconding accused, including Naushad and Kameel, live in Batla house currently. They are natives of Saidangali in Amroha, police said. Out of the four men, only Farman has a criminal history with a case lodged against him under sections 3/5/8 of the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Laughter Act in Amroha.

An FIR has been lodged against them under the cow slaughter act and 307 (attempt to murder) at the Sector 39 police station.
