Nominations Tension in AP: Lokesh Among Discrepant Candidates

The scrutiny of nominations has begun in Andhra Pradesh and there is a sensation even in this routine affair. Several leaders belonging to all political parties reportedly made mistakes in their Affidavits and are facing the threat of getting their nominations rejected.

Even Nara Lokesh is in trouble after YSR Congress objected the Notary of Vijayawada while Lokesh is residing in Guntur District.

The Returning Officer gave Lokesh time for the next 24 hours to submit additional documents. TDP cadre is relieved. Discrepancies were found in the Affidavit of Minister Kaluva Srinivasulu as well.

From YSR Congress, Nominations of Chintala Rama Chandra Reddy (Pileru) and Pilli Subash Chandra Bose (Mandapeta) are also found to be faulty. The Nominations of Candidates belonging to Janasena and Praja Shanthi Party were rejected in few places. The parties and their supporters are waiting until the final candidates in the fray are declared.

Across the state, there were 548 nominations for the 25 Lok Sabha segments and 3925 nominations for 175 Assembly Segments. Nandhyala Parliament has got the highest number of 38 nominations while Nandhyala Assembly got 61 nominations. We will have to see how many candidates will stay in the fray after the nominations withdrawal time.
