Not a single incident of mob lynching in Jharkhand: MP Sanjay Seth

DALTONGANJ: BJP MP (Ranchi) Sanjay Seth on Sunday maintained that mob lynching incidents never took place in the state, even though the tribal heartland in the last five years made headlines for over a dozen incidents in Ramgarh, Latehar, Seraikela-Kharsawan, among others.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Seth said, "I will say this with conviction that there have been no mob lynching incidents in Jharkhand and I will stand by what I said."

When asked by mediapersons about the several mob lynching incidents that took place in the state, he said, "There is just one case. But I don't know from where this term (mob lynch) came from. I again assert there is no such offence committed here."

He refrained from commenting on BJP leader Saryu Rai, who announced on Sunday to contest against Raghubar Das from Jamshedpur East after being denied a ticket from Jamshedpur West. "I am not the one to make any comment on him. He has chalked out his own course," he said.

Seth praised Das for his work in last 5 years. "Under his government, curbs on Maoists have been put in place. Earlier, venturing out on roads after dusk without fear was impossible."
