Now this EV manufacturer is selling two-wheelers on Amazon

We live in modern times, which means how we go about most things has also evolved considerably over the years. Take the process of buying vehicles for example -- a few years ago, it would have been hard to imagine any other way to do this except the traditional 'head over to the showroom' model. But it turns out, there are new ways to do this as well, i.e.

on the internet. It started with Revolt Motors, who offered the Revolt RV 300 and Revolt RV 400 electric bikes via Amazon until very recently. And now another company has added its name to this very small list of companies that sell vehicles via the world wide web, Amazon to be specific, is Ampere Vehicles. The Greaves Cotton subsidiary has announced its entire range of electric scooters is now available on the aforementioned e-commerce platform as well.

Well, what's the point, you may ask? According to the company, this will enable the customers to make use of the convenience typically associated with online shopping and still not miss out on the experience offered by an offline dealership.

The company also noted that according to the estimates shared by Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), the electric scooters market in India is growing at a mind boggling pace -- at more than 200 per cent, to be precise. Ampere Vehicles believes the availability of its e-scooters on Amazon will help further fortify its image as company that offers a seamless buying process and enables a quick transition to affordable and environment-friendly last-mile mobility.

So, exactly how will this work? Buyers will have to follow pretty much the same process as they do while buying anything else on Amazon save for a few differences. So, you head over to the platform, find the e-scooters, and buy the one you fancy. Once the payment is completed, customers will be issued a payment confirmation voucher, which is to be then used to pick up the scooter from the nearest Ampere Vehicles dealership in India.

Anyway, as mentioned above, all Ampere electric scooters, which includes four series of models, namely, Zeal, V-48, Reo, and Magnus, will be offered for purchase on Amazon. However, these e scooters will be available only in 10 cities via Amazon. And exactly which ten cities? That will be Bengaluru, Thoothukudi, Theni, Trichy, Udumalpet, Mangalore, Moodabidri, Coimbatore, Gopichettipalayam, Ambur and Karur.
