Odisha youth dies after falling off train in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A 25-year-old youth reportedly died after falling off moving train in Odisha’s Sambalpur today.

The body of the youth was recovered from a drain beside Sambalpur-Angul railway track near Jujumura Fire Station.

The deceased identified as Sushanta Pradhan of Torai village in Keonjhar district is suspected to have fallen from the moving train leading to his death.

He suffered multiple injuries on his body and head injury.

Jujumura police have recovered a train ticket from his pocket dated October 17, from Surat to Angul. The deceased was probably heading for his home from Surat, sources said.

“The incident took place today morning between Sambalpur and Angul station. The reason of him falling down from the train is still unknown,” said an officer.

GRP officials reached the spot and found his body lying inside the drain besides the rail tracks. He was rushed to Sambalpur District Headquarter Hospital (DHH), where he was declared dead on arrival.

The body has been kept in the mortuary for claimants.
