On eve of Magnificent MP, CM to open Smart Ind Park

BHOPAL: A day ahead of the Magnificent MP investment summit to be held on October 18, chief minister Kamal Nath will inaugurate the newly-developed smart industrial park in Dhar that will be showcased to investors.

Spread over 470 hectares, the proximity of the industrial estate to Indore with its superb connectivity has made it “very attractive for foreign companies”, say officials.

This park is the third in a series of satellite industrial towns after Pithampur and Dewas and will be part of the “the fastest growing economic region in India”, government sources said. Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Mumbai is 579 km — a 12-hour drive — away, and Kandla port in Gujarat is slightly further, at 644 km, but as easily approachable, making transit of raw material and commodities to the new industrial park quite convenient, they said.

Industrial park to generate 15k jobs: Officials

Besides inaugurating the Rs 373 crore industrial estate on October 17, the CM will also dedicate to the people Pithampur water supply scheme, worth Rs 225 crore, Sinhasa IT Park at Rs 129 crore, and an interstate bus terminal and IT command centre at Indore, both developed at a cost of Rs 60 crore each.

“The CM will dedicate to the people projects worth Rs 856 crore,” said Rajesh Rajora, principal secretary, industry. “The sprawling park is a multi-product industrial area, which can house several factories, warehouses, plants, and distribution centres. It is strategically located — within 70km of Indore — making it an appropriate choice for investors,” he added.

With MP projecting it as “one of the best industrial models in the country”, several firms in India and abroad are showing keen interest in it, sources said. The industrial park can house 60 industrial units and handle investments of Rs 10,000 crore, giving direct employment to 15,000 people, officials said.
