OPS son welcomed with flower shower, arathis in Theni
Madurai: Deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam’s son and AIADMK’s candidate for Theni Lok Sabha constituency P Ravindranath Kumar was given a warm welcome in the constituency at Alanganallur and Palamedu in Madurai district.
Ravindranath is one of the lesser-known faces among the AIADMK candidates in the region and was accompanied by his father on his maiden visit to the constituency as a candidate.
Two out of Madurai’s 10 assembly constituencies, Sholavandan and Usilampatti, come under Theni parliamentary constituency.
Women in Palamedu welcomed the candidate with ‘arathis’ before they proceeded to the Manjamalai Swamy temple, where special poojas were performed. The temple is on top of a hill and under the control of the forest department. Sources said that some marking stones had been removed en route to the temple to allow him to reach the temple by vehicle.
Later O Panneerselvam addressed the people.
