Over 150 taken ill after wedding feast in Odisha's Balasore

Bhogarai: As many as 150 fell ill after consuming food at a wedding reception held in a village here, last night.

According to reports, the patients are suffering from diarrhoea and have been admitted to the Community Health Centre in Jaleswarpur and Bada Sarisa Hospital here.

“Food poisoning has caused diarrhoea in these patients.

So far, 150 people are being treated, of which intra-veinous fluid has been adminsitrered to about 40 of them,” informed the treating physician.

A medical team of the hospital has also set up a temporary camp to treat patients in the Aanganwadi Centre of Ranibasana. Reportedly, the bride and groom have also fallen ill after eating the food.
