Panchkula digital library to be ready by Independence Day

PANCHKULA: The local administration is building a digital library near Indradhanush auditorium in Sector 5. Deputy commissioner M K Ahuja has said that the centre will be ready before August 15, which is Independence Day.
Being built under a project of the central information technology ministry , the library will keep printed books and other knowledge resource material in digital form.

Internet connectivity has changed the library scenario. Physical data is now stored as soft copy for easier access to information and knowledge.
It will scale the barriers of time and space, the officials have said. The state and Union governments have shared the construction budget. The DC said a community centre was also ready at Fatehpur village, while the administration had also discussed building a Sanskrit college at Mansa Devi temple and a dispensary at Ramgarh.
The dispensary was shifted for want of space. This created the need for a new dispensary at Ramgarh. In a meeting with the officers of the Panchkula administration, the DC also asked about the various other development works going on in the district.
