Parkash Purab: Heritage walk to be organized in Sultanpur Lodhi

SULTANPUR LODHI: Punjab Government would organize a “Heritage walk” on November 3 at Sultanpur Lodhi in connection with 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak .


The first of its kind walk in the city, to be organized by the Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab, District administration and Patiala Foundation , would spread the message of preservation of heritage, clean and eco-friendly practices and wiping out social ills.



Kapurthala deputy commissioner DPS Kharbanda said that the walk would start from Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk at Kapurthala- Sultanpur Lodhi road and would cover the historic shrines likes Gurdwara Anter Jamta, Gurdwara Hatt sahib , Gurdwara Bebe Nanki ji and would be completed at to Gurdwara Ber Sahib . He said that historian would inform the Sangat about the history of every Gurdwara sahib besides educating the people about the importance of Guru Nanak’s teaching in modern day life to save the environment.

He also said that by keeping in view the larger participation of people in the Heritage walk , the district administration would make adequate arrangements of security, traffic management and Langar at various places on the route.

He informed that volunteers of Patiala foundation , students from various colleges in the city and representatives of religious and social organizations would participate in the event.
