Patiala: Three arrested for forcing Dalit to drink urine

PATIALA: Sangrur police on Friday arrested three persons accused of beating up a Dalit youth and forcing him to drink urine.

The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has sought a report from Sangrur senior superintendent of police (SSP) on the incident reported from Changaliwala village. Commission chairperson Tejinder Kaur took suo motu notice of media reports.



Sangrur senior superintendent of police Dr Sandeep said police had arrested the prime accused Rinku, his father whose identity has not been revealed and Lucky for allegedly beating up Jagmale Singh and forcing him to drink urine.

Jagmale alleged that he had a fight with Rinku last month, but the matter had been settled. On November 7, Rinku invited him to his house where he and the two others thrashed him and then forced him to drink urine.
