Patna-Delhi Suvidha Express from today

PATNA: Railways has decided to run a biweekly Patna-Anand Vihar (Delhi) Suvidha Express (82395/03296) from November 6 to 24.

According to Danapur senior divisional commercial manager Adhaar Raj, the air-conditioned Suvidha Express will leave Patna Junction every Wednesday and Saturday at 11.05pm and reach Anand Vihar the next day at 7.30pm.

On its return journey, it will leave Anand Vihar every Thursday and Sunday at 9.30pm and reach Patna the next day at 6.30pm. It will have 18 coaches, including 16 AC3 and two brake vans.

“This train has stoppages at Ara, Buxar, Pt Deendayal Upadhaya Junction, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bareilly, Moradabad and Ghaziabad stations,” Raj said.

Dispelling passengers’ worry about excessive fares in Suvidha Express, Raj said people would have to pay only marginally higher as compared to the charges for AC classes in other mail and express trains. “One 3AC ticket in Suvidha Express is in the range of Rs1400-1700 per passenger under the dynamic charges for travelling between Patna Junction and Delhi,” he said.

“If berths are booked, passengers may have to pay up to Rs6000-7000 under the flexi fare system. Passengers can book their tickets in the Suvidha Express at least 15 days in advance,” he said.

According to ECR chief public relations officer Rajesh Kumar, railways is running at least six pairs of special trains between Patna Junction and Delhi to clear post-Chhath passengers; rush. “While railways is running two special trains from Danapur to Pune and Kota, two others are running from Gaya to Bandra and Tinsukia. Similarly, special trains are running from Saharsa, Raxaul, Barauni, Jogbani, Bhagalpur and Dhanbad to places like Secunderabad, Gandhidham, Anand Vihar, Pune and Delhi,” he said.
