Peeved at ticket denial from Hoshiarpur, MoS Vijay Sampla dubs BJP's decision 'cow slaughter'

New Delhi: Miffed after being denied Lok Sabha ticket from Hoshiarpur, Union Minister of State (MoS) and BJP leader Vijay Sampla on Tuesday called the party's decision "cow slaughter".

The BJP on Tuesday nominated Phagwara MLA Som Prakash from Punjab's Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat, the parliamentary constituency currently represented by Sampla.

Reacting sharply over the BJP’s decision to not renominate him from Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat, the MoS vented out his ire against the party in a series of tweets.

"Feel very sad, the BJP has done cow slaughter," the senior BJP leader tweeted in Hindi. He also asked the party what was his fault and why he was denied ticket from Hoshiarpur.

"You should have pointed out any fault. What is my fault?.. There is no corruption charge against me. No one can raise a finger at my conduct," the BJP MP said in another tweet.

Further recounting the development work he did during his tenure as an MP, Sampla said, "I got an airport in my region, got many new trains started, got roads constructed. If this is the fault, I will tell my coming generations that they must not repeat these mistakes.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released the 26th list of three candidates for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in Chandigarh and Punjab, fielding actor Sunny Deol from Gurdaspur, Prakash from Hoshiarpur, and Kirron Kher from Chandigarh.

In the 2014 general elections, Sampla had won the Hoshiarpur seat by a margin of over 13,500 votes defeating his Congress rival Mohinder Singh Kaypee.
