Police encroachment: Ajmer SP assures probe

Ajmer: A family that has been running from pillar-to-post to get their land vacated that was allegedly encroached by the police can now relax. The superintendent of police has assured them to investigate the matter. The case is of Ajmer’s JP Nagar.

According to the victim she had purchased a piece of land that already had a dilapidated small room on it.

“But when I went to construct a house on it, policemen from the police chowki told me that it comes under their chowki,” said the complainant.

Apparently, the small room had been given to police five years ago as their sanctioned JP Nagar police chowki was under construction then. The victim showed her land papers, but police asked for money to allow construction of the house. “I went to additional SP (city) and produced every detail and paper. I was assured that matter will be probed but when I went there the next time, all my papers had been lost,” the victim accused.

According to official sources the JP Nagar region under Alwar Gate police station had witnessed deteriorating law and order situation five years ago. “Looking to this, the police decided to open a new police chowki here. They wanted a small room constructed near the tempo stand,” said the official source.

“The chowki was opened and the staff too shifted in the new premises, but junior cops did not vacate the temporary chowki,” added the source.tnn
