Polling boycott in two villages of Hisar, firing in Fatehabad

HISAR: Except for an incident of firing on the old rage in Fatehabad, peacefully voting was held for the 17th Lok Sabha on Sunday in Hisar and Sirsa LS area. Although there was almost complete boycott of polling in two villages of Hisar, the same was to happen in a village of Sirsa but Sirsa villagers appeased by assurance of DC.

At the same time, fake polling was confirmed in a booth of Hansi but there was considerable enthusiasm for voting in other areas. During this time EVM and VVPAT machines also encountered malfunction in some places.

A violent clash between the two sides was seen near booth number 53 of Balmiki Chowk of Fatehabad, in which there was firing also. According to eyewitnesses, people of one side were coming in the vehicles after casting their votes and the other party got into a dispute. During this time a car was damaged. The police said that this quarrel was due to the old rivalry of drug trade.

On the other hand, according to its pre-declaration of Polling boycott, villagers of Balawas (Nalwa constituency) and Sarasana (Ukalana constituency) villages have completely boycotted this voting. Sarpanch of Balavas village Suresh Kumar said that no villager has voted in addition to employees and some government officials posted in the booth of the village due to drinking water problem. This village booths have about 16500 voters and only 14 votes were cast.

Naveen, Sarpanch representative of Sarsana village of Barwala block said that there are two booths (Unkalana constituency booth number 183 and 184) in his village and both booths have 1339 votes and only 12 people have voted in both. He told that his village was in Barwala Tahsil, which has now been made in Narnaund, which villagers opposed but administration and government not solve this problem.

Similarly, two pesons cast bogus vote in Hansi’s booth number 79 and after a long rumpus the matter was settled following the tender vote. Hansi resident Rajat said that when his mother Santosh went to polling booth, it was said that your vote has already been cast. That was the same complaint of Pawan, the voter of this booth.

Dinesh Kumar, the polling officer, confirmed that two fake votes were cast and told that tender votes of the true voters have been cast.

At the same time, the people of Sirsa’s Rania assembly constituency’s Kuttabarh village protested against voting. However, after the request of Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh, they started casting their votes. Villagers had boycotted voting on a bridge related matters.

District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Meena informed that technical failure of 20 ballot units and 15 control units were generated at various polling stations, which changed the entire set of EVM machines and VVPATs.
