Porbandar fishermen get Rs 52 crore diesel sales tax refund

RAJKOT: The Porbandar fishermen received Rs 52.61 crore as diesel sales tax refund and Rs 53 lakh as kerosene subsidy for the financial year 2018-19, an statement issued by the state government said.


There are 32,639 registered fishermen out of which 10,546 are active, while the rest are connected with the profession indirectly.

Government statement said that the refund and subsidy were released before the starting of new fishing season.
