Pregnant woman tests positive for Covid-19 in Patiala, samples of her six contacts taken

PATIALA: The health officials in Patiala have traced six contacts of a 20-year-old pregnant woman, who was tested positive for Covid-19 virus on Monday evening.


The authorities have collected samples of her contacts for testing, however, no positive case was reported on Tuesday. The tally in the district has reached 112 so far of which 101 persons have been cured and two people have died.

The 20-year-old woman is a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib and was living in a rented house in Rajpura. She had recently returned from Delhi. The officials claimed that she is around four months pregnant and had gone to Delhi where her husband is a cook at a private hotel. The authorities claimed that samples of her family members have been taken and results were awaited.

Meanwhile, two persons in Sangrur district have reported positive of the virus on Tuesday. However, they were already under quarantine. The tally in Sangrur has reached 94 positive cases so far of which 91 have been recovered and three are undergoing treatment.
