Private firm digs Bundi roads without nod

Kota: Bundi municipal council commissioner Kirti Kumawat on Wednesday wrote to Bundi SP to lodge an FIR and initiate appropriate action against JIO Digital Fiber Pvt. Limited and its directors for having illegally dug roads to lay cables.

The commissioner accused the firm of erected pillars in the jurisdiction of the council without having obtained permission and depositing the prescribed amount for the same.

On a complaint by youth congress workers Charmesh Sharma and Mahavir Meena, executive engineer of Bundi municipal council on Fridayhad visited the spots to verify the complaint and then submitted a report to the commissioner.

“A demand note of approximately Rs 27 lakh was issued to the firm when they applied for permission, but prior to depositing the money to obtaining permission, the firm started digging roads, laying cables and erected pillars,” executive engineer Arunesh Sharma said.

“Since the firm has not responded to the notices for having dug the roads and laid cables without permission from the municipal council, we have written to SP to lodge an FIR and initiate action against JIO Digital Fiber Pvt. Limited and its director,” Kumawat said. TNN
