Proposed Dhalbhumgarh airport will provide connectivity and generate biz cum employment opportunities at Jamshedpur MSMEs: JSIA

Ranchi, 4 July (KNN) The industries in Jamshedpur, which is known as a steel hub of India, have been stressing on the need of Dhalbhumgarh airport which will not only provide better connectivity but will also generate employment opportunities for large number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in state, said Jharkhand Small Industries Association (JSIA).

The association believes that MSMEs will have a positive opportunity to grow with the proposed Dhalbhumgarh airport establishment in Jamshedpur.

Commenting on the need of the airport, President of JSIA, SK Agarwal told KNN India, “For a better infrastructure and to boost up the employment even more folds, airport connectivity is a must to the city and it is necessity has been started feeling.”

Airport development will not only provide better connectivity but it will raise many more small scale industries to come forward. Employment potential will increase by it which will encourage the service sector the most, he added.

JSIA President said that the Service sector will give employment for a long term basis and people are looking to Jamshedpur but before mega industries come here, infrastructure needs to be well equipped.

Any industrial sector with different sectors of industries should be well connected through airline medium. Even it will help local people of in and around the city to travel and cutting in time, he added.

Jamshedpur has a total of more than 1,200 small and medium enterprises (SMEs). MSMEs and automobile sector industries have a heavy presence there.

“Jamshedpur is in need of Dhalbhumgarh Airport and we are demanding from past many years” said, Bidyut Baran Mahato, BJP MP from Jamshedpur in a recently held debate in Lok Sabha.

During the debate, he informed the house that export and import is being done from automotive industries. Other than this, Jamshedpur has mines of uranium, gold, and iron ore too.

Due to the industry and business, people continue to come here from the country and abroad. Taking this into consideration, Dhalbhumgarh Airport is in demand to be constructed, he added.

Jamshedpur has mother industry TELCO and TISCO and the city is equipped with many small and medium scale industries that are in operation. Jharkhand alone contributes nearly more than 40 percent of steel production in the country.

In the month of January, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das made the announcement of proposed airport in Dhalbhumgarh in East Singhbhum district.

He said that the proposed airport in Dhalbhumgarh, about 49-km from here, will not only give impetus to the development work in this region but people from adjoining West Bengal and Odisha will also benefit from it, besides people of mineral-rich Kolhan division of the state.

Jamshedpur is the city which is developing fast but lagging behind due to poor connectivity owing to lack of airport there. (KNN/VS)
