PUBG addicted Andhra teenager dies after skipping food and water for days

In a shocking case, a teenager from Andhra Pradesh reportedly died after playing the PUBG game continuously for several days. Because of the lockdown imposed because of coronavirus, the boy was staying at home and used to play a lot of PUBG - the online battle royale game and kept playing for many days.

He reportedly became addicted to the game, in fact so much that he forgot about eating and drinking and also skipped his meals for days.

According to the report by The Hindu, the boy was a native of Jujjulakunta village in Dwaraka Tirumala Mandal in West Godavari district.

The boy's family members then rushed him to a private hospital in Eluru Town where he tested COVID negative. The boy suffered from diarrhoea and died while he was administered treatment on Monday.

A similar case occurred in January, a 25-year old man died after suffering a brain stroke while playing the battle royale game in Pune. According to reports, Harshal Memane was playing the game when he complained about being unable to move his right arm and leg.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with intracerebral haemorrhage and then passed away.

PUBG or PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is an online multiplayer battle royale game which was created by South Korean company and experts have claimed that the game adversely affects the behaviour of those addicted to it.

Back in July, Pakistan had temporarily banned the game after "receiving complaints from different segments of society" because it was harmful to players' health.
