Pulwama conspirator killed: Indian Army

The armed forces on Monday claimed that they have killed one of the main conspirators of February 14 Pulwama attack, during an encounter in Tral area of southern Kashmir.

The forces said Mudasir Khan, a local from Midora Tral, and a foreigner, Khalid Bhai, associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, were killed in the encounter in Pinglish area of Tral, and three weapons were recovered from them.

Lt General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, general officer commanding, XV Corps, claimed that Khan was one of the important members of JeM and after February 14 attack, 18 militants were killed, of which 14 were from JeM.

The forces informed that Khan was operating along with Kamran, who was killed earlier and was involved in Lethpora attack on CRPF in December 2017.

“Operations will continue and Army is 100% ready for counter insurgency operations and conventional war as well,” Dhillon said during the presser. He said that infiltration has stopped along the Line of Control during winter months due to snowfall, but continues from the border in Jammu region.

Khan, police says, was over ground worker of JeM in 2017 and was later drawn into the outfit by Noor Mohammed Tantrey, alias ‘Noor Trali’, who along with Mufti Waqas is believed to be responsible for JeM’s revival in Kashmir Valley after 2014. After Trali was killed, Khan disappeared from his home on January 14, 2018, and was active since then. Khan, was a graduate and also held one-year diploma course as an electrician from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI). Police claims that Khan arranged the vehicle and explosive for the attack.
