Punjab Government will start campaign to make people aware of corona testing

Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has taken a big step to stop the spread of Corona, on Thursday. He insisted on 100% testing using rapid antigen testing method in containment zones. Taking stock of the situation of Corona in the state, the Chief Minister has asked the Deputy Commissioners, Police Commissioners, District Police Chiefs and Civil Surgeons to find out at least ten persons who are in contact with every COVID patients.

They have also been ordered to conduct tests for more well-to-do people such as shopkeepers, labourers working in Mandis and leading line attendants within a week. This week is named as Testing Week. The CM also ordered that all offices, business entities, industrial units and marriage palaces, etc., where more than 10 people gather, appoint 'COVID monitors' to closely monitor health and safety measures. This monitor will be responsible for keeping the workspace clean and disinfected.

The CM called the patients recovering from Corona to come forward to deliver plasma at the plasma banks set up at the Government Medical College Patiala, Amritsar and Faridkot so that it could be used for the treatment of the patient affected by the epidemic. Expressing deep concern over negative perceptions related to coronavirus among the people, the Captain has ordered the Chief Secretary to start a campaign to make people aware of the importance of corona testing through the Public Relations Department.
