1. Niloufer Junior Doctors Still on Strike

Junior doctors of Niloufer Hospital continued their strike but resumed emergency services on Friday, 1 March.

Junior doctor Rahul from Niloufer said, “In view of problems faced by patients, we have resumed emergency services and all other services were boycotted.” District Medical Health officer Ramesh Reddy met the junior doctors in the morning and discussed their problems.

2. Telangana High Court Relief to Wakf Board, Restores Land to Masjid

In a relief to the Wakf Board, the Telangana High Court on Friday, 1 March, restored the gazette notification pertaining to a parcel of prime land measuring 90 acres and 18 guntas in Guttala Begumpet, Madhapur, as belonging to Masjid Alamgiri.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B Radha-krishnan and Justice A Rajasheker Reddy restored the notification which had been suspended by a single judge.

3. Telangana High Court Seeks Govt Stand on Building For OGH

The Telangana High Court on Friday, 1 March, asked the state government about its stand on the construction of a building to house Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on the same premises.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Justice A Rajasekher Reddy, was hearing a petition filed by Healthcare Reforms’ Doctors Association, seeking a direction from the government to construct a new building to house the OGH, a 150-year-old institution spread over 25 acres of land.

4. Seven-Year-Old Girl Crushed to Death by Water Tanker

A seven-year-old girl, riding pillion on her father's bike, was crushed to death after she came under the wheels of a water tanker on Friday, 1 February.

Dia Jain, daughter of Naresh Jain, was on her way to her school near Gunfoundry from their residence in Asif Nagar when the accident occurred.

"As they were travelling between Chapal Road and Gunfoundry stretch, a water tanker hit the two-wheeler from behind and Dia came under the rear wheels of the vehicle near Methodist Church," Abid Road police said. The accident took place at around 8.30 am.

5. No Fee If More Than 20 Cars at Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road Toll Plazas

Come 1 April, the toll collecting agency on the 158-km-long Outer Ring Road (ORR) will have to simply clear all the vehicles without collecting user fee if any of the lanes at any of the toll plazas has a queue of over 20 vehicles. The Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), a wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), has issued instructions to the newly-appointed toll collection agency Eagle Infra Limited.

The new agency will start collecting toll from 1 March at 19 interchange toll plazas namely Pedda Amberpet, Medchal, Kokapet, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, Edulnagulapally, Patancheru, Shamirpet, Ghatkesar, Keesara, TSPA, Nanakramguda, Pedda Golconda, Ravirayal, Tukkuguda, Taramatipeta, Sultanpur, Saragudem and Bonguluru.
