Railways cancels two trains till March 13

PATNA: At least two passenger trains, running on the Ara-Sasaram section of Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR), have been cancelled from February 22 to March 13 due to railway electrification (RE) work being carried out on the route. It is likely to be completed by the end of June.

"The cancelled trains include the Ara-Sasaram passenger (54273) and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction-Ara passenger (54272)," ECR's chief public relations officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said on Saturday and added the railways had also decided to control traffic movement on the route from 9pm to 5am every day till March 13.

MEMU trains: The railways has decided to replace all eight DEMU passenger trains with MEMU trains on the newly electrified Fatuha-Islampur and Daniyawan-Islampur routes under the Danapur division of the ECR from Saturday.

"This facility will ensure faster movement and punctuality of trains on these routes," the CPRO said.
