Rain To Continue As Monsoon Withdrawal Delayed In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha may witness moderate rainfall for some more days as the withdrawal of monsoon is yet begin in the State, predicted Regional Meteorological Centre here on Friday.

“As the withdrawal of monsoon is yet to begin in Odisha, light to moderate rainfall will occur at some places in the State. Though the sky is partially cloudy in some places, no warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for today,” said LK Giri, duty officer of the regional meteorological centre.

Giri said that thunderstorm and moderate rainfall will occur at isolated parts of the State in the next one or two days. The thunderstorm and light to moderate rainfall alert has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts today.

The weather will be sunny in most parts of the State after two days. After the withdrawal of monsoon, there is possibility of onset of winter in the State, Giri added.

The Meteorological Centre further informed that withdrawal of monsoon has begun in most parts of Haryana, Punjab and parts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. There is possibility that it will withdraw from Central India, Eastern India and most part of North-West India as the conditions are fabourable.
