'Raipur airport fifth in India and 55th in world'

RAIPUR: In yet another feather in its cap, Swami Vivekananda Airport of Raipur has been adjudged in the fifth position in the country for Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey. The Chhattisgarh capital's airport stood on 55th position in world ranking in the group of 388 airports across the globe.

Raipur airport director Rakesh Sahay confirmed that Raipur airport ranked fifth in India and 55th worldwide adding that ASQ covers entire world of air travel with 388 airports in the fray.



The ASQ survey was conducted for first quarter between January-March 2019 to check the quality of services provided at airports. This included 33 airports of Africa, 118 of Asia Pacific, 124 of Europe, 48 airports of LAtin America & Carribbean, 10 of Middle East and 55 of North America. Swami Vivekananda Airport also topped in the country in Customer Satisfaction Survey round two for consecutive fourth time in a row recently.

Survey conducted in 51 airports


The survey conducted in 51 airports between July and December 2018 and Raipur airport recorded highest of 4.86 score followed by Trichy, Udaipur and Vadodara airports. Airport official said Raipur airport has focused upon providing better connectivity, customer satisfaction in regards with easy check-in within minutes, Wi-Fi with good speed, world class shopping facilities, set up of food and beverages outlet and quick delivery of baggage for passengers have contributed a lot.

This has helped in improving and taking the quality of service to a very high level which has now given an international identity to Raipur airport, the official said.
